We organize webinars eight times a year on various topics. Zefanja Vermeulen and external experts share their in-depth knowledge, allowing you to learn more about the horse's body.
These webinars are free for participants of the full The Horse Inside Out course and community members. Non-members can easily register for individual webinars.
In this third webinar of our movement webinar series, we take a deeper look into the biomechanics of the horse. In this webinar on April 23 with Zefanja Vermeulen, we zoom in on a crucial component: the back as the central link in movement.
In this webinar, Zefanja Vermeulen will guide you through the function and mechanics of the horse’s back within the movement system. We know the back has a certain degree of mobility, but what movement is the back actually supposed to make? And what do we really mean when we say the back needs to become stronger before we sit on the horse?
Using anatomy and biomechanics, we will explore which structures are involved in the function of the back, the role they play in movement and carrying capacity, and what is truly meant by strengthening the back.
→ Insight into the movement the back is actually meant to perform within the horse’s locomotion
→ Understanding of the anatomical structures involved in supporting and moving the back
→ What do we really mean when we say a horse needs to strengthen its back?
→ How knowledge of the back helps to better understand movement, training, and load management
