We organize webinars eight times a year on various topics. Zefanja Vermeulen and external experts share their in-depth knowledge, allowing you to learn more about the horse's body.
These webinars are free for participants of the full The Horse Inside Out course and community members. Non-members can easily register for individual webinars.
On January 22nd, we'll kick off our new webinar series on movement with the basics: the biomechanics of the walk, trot, and canter. Together with experts Zefanja Vermeulen and Karin Leibbrandt, you'll analyze horse movement in a way you can immediately apply in practice.
Karin Leibbrandt takes you back to basics. What exactly is a walk, trot, or canter, and what should they look like biomechanically?
→ Karin will discuss the horse's natural posture, which maintains its balance.
→What happens if there's a deviation in the horse's natural posture (for example, a head carried very high or very low)? And how do you recognize whether a horse moves in a way that maintains the body's natural flow?
Zefanja Vermeulen examines the origins of movement. In the wild, every gait—whether it's the onset of a trot or an explosive gallop—has a specific function.
→ Zefanja explains the importance of understanding the natural function of gaits to maintain good movement, even when we're working with them.
→ When we humans use or ride horses, we have different movement requirements, but how important is it to incorporate the lessons learned from wild horses?
