The Mastery Horse Gait Analysis program focuses on the movement of the entire horse. You'll delve deeper into anatomy and biomechanics, enabling you to accurately assess a specific horse's physique and motor skills.
During the program, you'll learn to effectively connect theory about the horse's body and musculoskeletal system to the horse in practice. You'll acquire various practical skills that you can use when conducting equine assessments.
To make it easy for you to join the education program, we offer the Mastery in a hybrid format.
The live practical days are more bundled together, so it is easier to attend if you travel from afar. And we have adapted other parts into an online format, so you can follow these subjects from home. Furthermore, it will all be offered in English!

In this phase, the focus is on the healthy structures of the musculoskeletal system. You’ll learn how anatomy (structure and appearance) relates to biomechanics (way of moving). Through palpation and movement analysis, you’ll learn to feel these healthy structures.
In this final phase, you’ll bring all your knowledge together. You’ll gain a unique insight into the horse’s body during a three-day online dissection to visualize structures. You’ll learn to perform a assessment, evaluating the horse’s load-bearing capacity, elasticity, and performance.
After completing the full Mastery Horse Gait Analysis course, you’ll be able to properly palpate a horse, identify abnormalities in its anatomy, biomechanics, and motor skills, and assess its physical condition. As an assessor, you’ll be able to analyze the horse’s resilience, elasticity, and future performance.
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about the horse's body and movement to help them feel comfortable and perform well.
Moreover, this course provides specialists such as bodyworkers and trainers with practical tools to assess whether a horse is trainable within their scope.
The tuition for this program starts at €2,945, depending on your chosen payment method. This fee includes all practical and online training days in phases 1, 2, and 3, guidance, homework, materials, and exam fees. This price excludes optional support packages and the online learning program “The Horse Inside Out.” Payment in terms is possible. During the practical days, you will be taught by instructors trained by Sharon May-Davis and experts in anatomy and biomechanics.
The next opportunity to start the mastery program is in May 2026, and the training days will take place at Equinestudies in Asch. The three phases last approximately 1.5 years in total.
